Home Base is the main reference page in both apps. You do not need to learn every page first. Print it, display it in the classroom or at home, and open the linked pages when you need them. It flows through four coloured sections.

๐ŸŒˆ
WHY โ€“ The Reason for Virtues

Virtues help you live a happy, meaningful life, make good choices and flourish.

The yellow section links to Aristotle & Virtues and to Home & Community Connections, reflecting the hope that practising virtues helps us flourish at home, at school and in our community.

Circle Time at school & Family Connect Time at home

A short, regular time to connect, practise virtues, reflect and reset. Students sit together in a circle with a talking tool, check in, explore a virtue and practise it.

"It sounds like you're upset because your things weren't treated with respect."

Regular face-to-face family time, with screens put aside. It is not another task to complete. It is about making time to be together.

Program origins

My interest in virtues, wellbeing, mindfulness and human flourishing developed over many years through my teaching, psychology studies and professional experience.

During my psychology training, I developed an earlier classroom program called Happy Safe Learn Well, and ran a parent program alongside it as part of my final year. Together they gave me an early framework for ideas I have continued to revisit, develop and adapt since.

Virtues for Flourishing is the current expression of this longstanding work. It continues to evolve, with connections to school, home and community.
